This policy explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have. The data controller is the editorial team behind this site. Questions go to privacy@brgen.no.

What we collect

Account: your email and chosen display name at sign-up. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash.
Content you create: posts, comments, messages, images and audio you choose to publish.
Technical: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and aggregated, non-identifying operational logs for security and debugging.
Location: approximate only, and only if you turn it on for “nearby” features. We never store precise GPS.

Advertising and partner links

We sell and serve our own advertising directly, the way an editorial publisher does (in the Condé Nast mould). First-party ads are placed by us, share no data with third-party ad networks, and build no cross-site profile of you.

Some links are partner / affiliate links (including TradeDoubler and Amazon Associates). If you click one, the partner may set a cookie so that a resulting purchase is attributed to us, and we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. See cookies for detail.

Legal basis

We process account data to perform our contract to provide the service (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), security and operational logs under legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)), and location only on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase and port your data, and to object to processing. You can export your data and request deletion from account settings, or contact us. You may lodge a complaint with your national data-protection authority.

Storage and sharing

We never sell personal data. Data is held on servers in Europe (Amsterdam) and kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, personal data is removed within 30 days, except what we must retain for legal reasons.
